About Us
Impact Colors Inc. was formed in September of 2007 by combinning JFS Specialty Chemicals, Inc. pigment products with The Thornley Company. The founders Joe Senackerib, Doug Thornley and Tom Kahle were all experts in pigment technology. The concept of forming Impact Colors was to combine the expertise of these three men to develop new and innovative effect pigments.
Mr. Kahle was Director of color products for Procter & Gamble and was VP of Technology in the start up company, Jane Cosmetics. When Estee Lauder acquired Jane Cosmetics Mr. Kahle was again responsible for the color makeup development for the Estee Lauder acquision.
Doug Thornley has been involved in selling and marketing pigments for many years. Due to his extensive relationships throughout the cosmetic industry he has developed an expertise in cosmetic pigments.
Joe Senackerib for 15 years was the President of Rona/Merck and a driving force in advancing effect pigments technology. Mr. Senackerib was a member of the CTFA Board of Directors and is on their Scientific Advisory and Color Additives Committees. Mr. Senackerib also authored the color additives section of The Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology (Kirk-Othmer) and has written chapters in books on color additives.
